An official representative of the Islamist group “Hamas” called on the Palestinians to start daily confrontations against Israel during the holy month of Ramadan for Muslims, DPA reported, quoted by BTA.

Osama Hamdan told a conference in Beirut in support of the residents of the Gaza Strip in the face of the Israeli offensive that Palestinians throughout the Middle East must “turn every day into a day of clashes”. He added that the international community should not stand idly by and watch while “hunger crushes our people and tears out their souls.”

The Hamas official also said ongoing talks on a possible ceasefire with Israel showed the flexibility of his movement “out of concern for the blood of our people”.

He emphasizes that “what Israel has not achieved on the ground, it will not win in politics.”

On Saturday, Al-Qahera News TV quoted a senior Egyptian security source as saying Cairo was working to reach a cease-fire agreement in Gaza ahead of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, which begins next week.
