Hamas, during the training that preceded the attacks on October 7, has mixed its tactics with those of the Islamic State, Hezbollah and the Taliban, according to the analysis of videos recorded during said attacks. “The brutality and joy of Hamas militants when they killed Israeli civilians (including babies, small children and the elderly) are evident,” says HsTosay, which compiles what was published by North American media. The videos come from GoPro, cell phone and dash cam footage recorded by the attackers themselves.
“Hamas appears to have combined the tactics of Hezbollah, the Islamic State and the Taliban by mounting a large-scale attack that included approximately 2,000 fighters, rocket salvoes, mass hostage taking, rape, beheadings and live broadcasts.” The Hamas attack on October 7, the worst terrorist attack in the country’s 75-year history, employed all of those tactics and killed more than 1,000 Israeli civilians. Under international law, this is a war crime.
“The militants appear calm in the GoPro videos they filmed themselves, slowly searching houses filled with signs of daily life (a fresh breakfast, an iPad, a pair of shoes) while Israeli civilians apparently hid in safe rooms nearby. Hamas members appear astonished and surprised by the success of their operation and the slow response of the Israeli security forces.”
“The attackers cheered as they killed unarmed people. Hamas members shot dead civilians in their living rooms, set houses on fire, and threw a grenade at a father who was trying to protect his three children, killing the father and one child and partially blinding another. After civilians were shot dead in the car, Hamas militants removed their limp bodies from the vehicle, entered and left.
The images showed Hamas members engaging in the type of carnage depicted in ISIS videos. In one scene, a Hamas member asks another fighter to film him as he shoots an Israeli civilian in the head who appears to be dead. In another, a group of Hamas terrorists argue over who can cut off the head of a Thai man who was working in Israel. Then one of them struggles to cut off his head with a hoe. The images include photographs of two babies who were shot in the head and two babies who appear to have been burned to ashes.
