“Hamas is an invention to divide the Palestinian people”: Petro; These are your arguments

President Gustavo Petro once again referred to the conflict between Palestine and Israel, the same one that has marked his agenda this last week on the social network X.

In an extensive message on his X account, the Colombian president assured that Hamas, the terrorist organization responsible for recent attacks on civilians in Israel, is actually an invention of Israeli intelligence, whose purpose, according to Petro, is “to divide the Palestinian”. “They say that I support Hamas, as before they said that I supported the FARC,” Petro said.

“Hamas is the invention of Mossad to divide the Palestinian people and have the excuse of punishing them,” said the head of state, adding that “terrorism, as Habermas said, like all violence, is the absence of communication.”

Petro also referred again to what he considers apartheid in Gaza. According to his statement, the only way out of the “desperate and murderous” terrorism that exists in the territory is to “open the paths of communication between peoples.”

“But what they really want is to expel the Palestinian people from their old land and destroy them,” highlighted the President, whose position regarding the war in Gaza has been questioned by former foreign ministers and by the Israeli Embassy in Colombia.
