The fear of escalation in the region: Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh warned this evening of an unprecedented escalation between Israel and the Palestinians following what he calls “the crimes of the fascist government and Ben Gabir”.
Haniyeh called on the countries of the world to intervene and stop the moves of the Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gabir and the right-wing government in Israel, which he defined as “crimes of a fascist right-wing government.”
“The region is on the way to an unprecedented escalation,” Haniyeh warned, “the conflict will not remain within the confines of the prisons. The Palestinian people will not leave their imprisoned sons alone in the conflict.”
Haniyeh’s words follow the steps taken by the political-security cabinet that is meeting this evening after the terrorist attack in Jerusalem in which seven people were murdered and five others were seriously injured.
The attacks were carried out near a synagogue in the Neve Yaakov neighborhood, where a terrorist murdered seven people, and in the city of David, where a 13-year-old boy opened fire on a father and his son, a paratrooper officer, who neutralized the terrorist. The father and son were seriously injured.
