Hamas Response to Proposed Agreement and Ongoing Mediation in Gaza Conflict

by time news

The Egyptian and Qatari mediators are waiting to receive Hamas’s response to the “framework agreement” paper that was presented to the terrorist organization after the Paris meeting, which brought the Arab mediators together with representatives of the US and Israel.

Yesterday, Hamas rejected the decision again, and a delegation from the organization, together with representatives of the other terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip, is expected to arrive in Cairo, although they have not yet submitted their decision.

The Lebanese Al-Akhbar newspaper, which is affiliated with Hezbollah, noted that the prevailing atmosphere is causing the US to convince Israel to make additional concessions, including extending the duration of the temporary ceasefire, in response to the requests of the Egyptian and Qatari mediators to secure the approval of Hamas and the organizations for the deal.

Palestinian sources told the newspaper that the Hamas leadership abroad has completed a first round of consultations that included the organization’s leadership frameworks and also included contacts and meetings with the Islamic Jihad leadership and other Palestinian factions.

Hezbollah linked the fate of Lebanon to the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip and in accordance with the integration of the southern and northern arenas and the Hamas leadership informed the Hezbollah leadership in Lebanon of the details of the ongoing contacts. Al-Akhbar has learned that the leadership of Hamas has spoken with the Qatari side and made it clear that in its answer it will demand a clear and direct reference to a comprehensive ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the provision of guarantees for the cessation of fighting as part of an exchange of captives and prisoners.

Hamas, according to the sources who spoke with the newspaper, will focus on the tragedy occurring in the Gaza Strip as a result of the war and the need to stop it and the siege around the Strip and start the reconstruction process immediately.

According to information received by Al-Akhbar, the political and military leadership of Hamas in Gaza informed the organization’s leadership in Doha that “there is no fear for the fate of the abductees, the organization has the ability to guard them and the enemy has no ability to reach them.” The newspaper also stated that the Hamas leadership in Gaza said “that the resistance wants to end the war now, but it does not face any pressure on the ground that would prompt it to surrender.”
