The Palestinian Islamic movement Hamas is not currently open to negotiating a prisoner exchange with Israel, a member of the group’s political summit in Doha declared on Monday (9).
“The military operation continues (…), so currently there is no possibility of negotiation on the issue of prisoners or anything else,” Hossam Badran told AFP.
“Our mission now is to do everything possible to prevent the occupation from continuing to commit massacres against our people in Gaza, directly affecting civilian homes,” he added.
This Monday, the Israeli Army ordered the total siege of the Gaza Strip, controlled by Hamas, in an unprecedented offensive response launched on Saturday by this Palestinian Islamic group.
More than 1,200 people have died on both sides since hostilities began.
