Hamas Spokesman Addresses Reports of IDF Flooding Tunnels

In response to reports of potential flooding of tunnels by IDF forces, Hamas spokesman Osama Hamdan held a press conference in Beirut to address the situation. According to a report on CNN, Hamdan stated that the terrorist organization had built its tunnels to withstand attempts to flood them.

“The tunnels were built by skilled and educated engineers who considered all possible attacks from the occupation, including water pumping. The tunnels are an integral part of the resistance, and all the consequences and expected attacks were taken into account,” Hamdan said at the press conference.

The statement comes as Israel recently informed the US that it had begun a “careful inspection” of flooding some of the Hamas tunnels with seawater. However, Israel assured the American government that they only do this in tunnels where they do not believe hostages are being held.

Hamdan also addressed the issue of possible new talks aimed at the release of additional hostages held inside Gaza. “There will be no negotiations and no return of the prisoners until after a complete cessation of fighting against Gaza,” he said.

The press conference comes amid tensions between Israel and Hamas, and serves as a reminder of the ongoing conflict in the region. It also sheds light on the strategic and logistical considerations taken by Hamas in building their tunnels.

As the situation continues to develop, both sides are preparing for potential escalations in the conflict. The remarks made by Hamdan indicate that Hamas is prepared for the challenges posed by IDF attempts to flood their tunnels, and is standing firm in their stance on negotiations for the release of hostages.
