Emphasizes gap resolution, party member multiplication movement, and introduction of party member rights
Han Dong-hoon, the leader of the People Power Party, promised on the 27th that he would engage in quality politics at the famous bakery Seongsimdang in Daejeon.
Representative Han attended the opening ceremony for the relocation of the Daejeon City Hall in Samseong-dong, Dong-gu, Daejeon that afternoon and said, “The reason Seongsimdang became famous nationwide was not because of good advertising, but because the food is delicious.” He added, “We will provide you with quality politics and start again in Daejeon with the same secrets to Seongsimdang’s success.”
“We will not stop at just giving you good bread, but we will come to you and explain the policy and listen to you without making you wait in line. We want to do well. Please give us a chance to do well.”
When appealing to party members to join the movement, Representative Han said, “I would like to start by acknowledging that I have neglected party members so far and expressing my deepest apologies,” adding, “I will not focus on simply increasing the number of party members, but will think about how to attract party members and how to move forward together.”
While expressing his intention to introduce the term “members with rights,” like the Democratic Party of Korea, instead of “responsible members” who pay party dues, he said, “We will take responsibility and you will enjoy the rights.”
Regarding the emphasis on ‘resolving the gap,’ he emphasized, “As a liberal party, we value growth, but we will not turn a blind eye to the difficulties faced by the people while emphasizing growth, and we will not become a stingy party.” He added, “We will focus on resolving the gap that the Republic of Korea is experiencing. Whether we win the local elections, presidential elections, and general elections depends on how well we achieve results in resolving the gap.”
The People Power Party also expressed its intention to provide support befitting Daejeon as a science and technology capital. This is interpreted as pointing out the difficulties the Daejeon region experienced in the elections due to the aftermath of the R&D budget cuts in the last general election.
He promised, “My first local schedule since becoming the party leader is Daejeon. The budget season is coming up soon. Daejeon is the capital of science and technology. I will provide strong support at the party level that is befitting its spirit and pride.”
One representative said, “I will travel to as many regions as possible to create opportunities for dialogue. I will reflect a lot on the region. I will make up for the criticism and do my best.”
