However, regarding the call for the dismissal of Jang Sang-yoon, Senior Secretary to the President for Social Affairs, and the Minister and Vice Minister of Health and Welfare, he dismissed it, saying, “As the party leader, didn’t you publicly point out (the government’s) words and actions that could be misunderstood?” and “Rather than debating who did well and who did badly, or who is right, we should focus on how to resolve the issue.”
He added, “Listing specific measures as conditions for launching the consultative body will only hinder the speedy launch of the consultative body.”
Regarding the Korean Intern Resident Association, which is at the core of the conflict over the legislative process, being negative about participating in the consultative body, he said, “If we assume that a certain group will participate from the beginning, then we won’t be able to get off to a good start.” He added, “That’s why I’m meeting with medical groups individually, one-on-one, to persuade them.”
