People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon stepped forward to mediate the legislative conflict on the 30th. Regarding the recent controversy that exposed differences of opinion with the government, he said, “The conflict frame is an attempt to obscure the essence.”

A representative stated this on his Facebook page that day, saying, “We are now talking about the people’s right to life.”

A representative continued, “Rather than avoiding the essence by spreading the Yeouido-style conflict frame and making personal attacks against me, we must speak head-on about the essence of the issue: ‘Are the lives and health of the people at risk now?’ and ‘If so, what is the alternative?’”

Representative Han’s remarks are interpreted as targeting the internal war of nerves within the ruling party surrounding the political conflict. As the government rejected Representative Han’s ‘2026 Medical School Increase Delay Plan,’ pro-Yoon Seok-yeol lawmakers raised the issue of the lack of communication between Representative Han and President Yoon Seok-yeol. They also expressed the conflict between Representative Han and the government as the ‘Korea-Government conflict.’

Earlier, Rep. Kwon Seong-dong, a member of the pro-Yoon Seok faction, said, “The party leadership and the floor leadership need to think more about how to go together with the president,” and pointed out, “Things won’t be solved by just saying a few words.”

Representative Han refuted Rep. Kwon’s remarks, saying, “Isn’t it wrong to have different opinions?” He continued, “The frame of the party-government relationship or conflict can simplify the issue,” and added, “Wouldn’t it be right to prioritize the lives and health of the people? It is the job of the ruling party leader to strive to reflect public sentiment.”
