Intel hardware + Hancom AI technology… Provides new user experience in AI PC environment
Targeting the on-device AI market… AI drafts and summarizes documents without the internet
Hangul and Computer announced on the 17th that they will strengthen cooperation with Intel in the field of on-device artificial intelligence (AI). Through this, Hancom will expand its AI ecosystem and target the on-device AI market.
On-device AI is a technology that processes AI calculations directly within the user’s device instead of a cloud server, allowing information to be processed and decisions made in real time without transmitting data to an external server. In the future, by combining Intel’s hardware and Hancom’s AI technology, it will be possible to implement AI-based document creation solution functions such as drafting and document summarization without an Internet connection.
On the 16th, at the domestic launch event for Intel Korea’s next-generation graphics card ‘Intel Arc B-Series’, Hancom gave a session presentation on the theme of ‘Productivity Innovation Opened by On-Device AI’ and announced a partnership with Intel. Cooperation plans were revealed. The two companies decided to focus their capabilities to respond to the expansion of the on-device AI market and provide new user experiences in the AI PC environment.
Hancom is currently conducting tests to expand its flagship AI products, ‘Hancom Assistant’ and ‘Hancom Pedia’, beyond the on-premise and cloud environments to the on-device area. In particular, we are discussing ways to maximize the synergistic effect through the alliance between Intel’s Augmented Search Generation (RAG) technology and Hancompedia. In addition, the two companies plan to develop online and offline education programs in cooperation with Hancom Academy, an edutech company that is a subsidiary of Hancom.
Using this cooperation as a stepping stone, Hancom plans to lay the foundation for the advancement and expansion of not only Hancom Assistant, but also ‘Hancom SLM (Small Language Model)’, which is scheduled to be released in the future. In addition, we plan to develop new technologies and expand the market through close cooperation with Intel.
Kim Yeon-soo, CEO of Hancom, said, “As the AI PC market is expected to grow rapidly, cooperation with Intel will significantly improve the user experience of Hancom AI products.” He added, “With on-device AI, more users will be able to easily utilize AI technology.” “We will lead the popularization of AI by providing support and expanding AI accessibility,” he said.
