It’s a big blow for US Ivry Handball. A few hours after the announcement of the “end of the collaboration” decided with Sébastien Quintallet, the Ile-de-France club found its replacement in the person of Didier Dinart.

An announcement that was made around 8 p.m. by the Val-de-Marnais club, stating that the former coach of the Blues (2016-2020) has signed up for three and a half years and that he would take office from this Tuesday, January 10.

“I am honored by the trust that this historic club has in me,” Dinart said in a statement relayed by the club. Together we will design the sports project for the next three and a half years. My primary objective will be to allow US Ivry to perpetuate its place at the highest level. With the president, the leaders, the staff and the players, I will be able to rely on what already exists and build tomorrow. Without forgetting the young hopefuls of the club with an efficient training center at the heart of our project. Finally, I am also counting on the support of the loyal Rouge et Noir supporters who are so important in home games. »

It is one of the greatest clubs in the history of French handball, the third most successful in the French championship with 8 coronations, which is associated with a legend of the French team. As a player, Dinart, who was part of the illustrious generation of “Experts”, rose to the third rank of the most capped players in the history of the Blues (379 caps between 1996 and 2013). Then, as coach, he led the Blues to victory in the world championships in 2017 and two bronze medals, one world (2019) and one European (2018). Since leaving the bench of the Blues in 2020, he had briefly coached the Saudi Arabian team.
