Hapoel Hadera players did not receive the October salary

by time news

Days of uncertainty at Hapoel Hadera. The club’s financial difficulties led to the players and team members not receiving their October salary, but instead receiving a deferred check for next month.

The story began just before the break. The Hadera management contacted the players and told them that they should defer payment for October as there are financial difficulties and instead brought them a deferred check for next month, hoping that the money could go into their account in December. Some of the players, naturally, did not like it and a number of club members decided not to accept the check and did not agree to it. It should be noted that these are a few days before some of the players went on vacations abroad to take advantage of the break, and the matter sent them worried to the plane.

As part of the Hadera management’s appeal to the players, they were told that those who have one financial problem or another can contact the management through the mediation of Captain Menashe Zelka. In the environment of the players and the team members, who of course have many families and expenses, there is a fear that the situation will continue beyond the coming weeks regarding salaries.

All this comes shortly after an indictment was filed against the mayor of Hadera, Zvika Gandelman, for offenses of fraud and breach of trust, receiving anything in public, obstruction of justice and an offense under the Computer Law. Hapoel Hadera is under the auspices of the municipality, so the recent events do not add calm when it comes to the club’s financial future.

In 2020, Hapoel Hadera received a sum of NIS 3.750 million from the municipality, while the annual budget for the whole of 2020 was NIS 19,663,745. In 2019, Hadera received an amount of NIS 2,968,425 from the municipality.
