If the 1:0 loss to Maccabi Netanya yesterday (Saturday) was not enough, Hapoel Haifa’s concerns following that game were confirmed today when the team received the results of the ultrasound examination performed by Tomer Yosef, in which it was discovered that he was suffering from a fracture of the comb bone.
The club announced that the attacking player, who joined not long ago from Po’el Beer Sheva, is expected to be absent for several weeks. However, it should be noted that this depends on the severity of the fracture, but this type of injury has disabled players for long periods in the past: Omar Atzili broke his comb bone in November 2017 while playing for Maccabi Tel Aviv and returned only four months later, while Ben Shaher suffered such an injury last May and returned to activity after more than two months.
Also, in Hapoel Haifa there is also great concern regarding Liran Sardel who was also injured against Netanya and was replaced in the first half. The contact felt pain in the hamstring and Haifa hopes it is not a tear. Serdal is considered the best fit player in the team, so his absence could be decisive.
If it turns out that Sardel is suffering from a tear, the team will not release Guy Mizrahi who has already separated from the players, this is because Dor Malul is also injured and sidelined. In any case, in Haifa they will look for reinforcement for the link, if indeed it turns out to be a tear.
The team was disappointed by the loss, but coach Roni Levy defended a Levita fan who made a mistake in the goal that led to the loss.
Goalkeeper coach Finney Avraham, who was removed from his position by Roni Levy, was interviewed by the “Hapanel” program on Haifa radio and, among other things, revealed his side of the confrontation with the coach. Avraham claimed that the coach turned to the bench in the game against Hapoel Hadera and called Levita “goalkeeper zero”. Haifa suspended Avraham until he appears before a disciplinary committee and explains why he was interviewed. Meanwhile Levita is unwillingly in the middle of the storm.
