A dramatic announcement from Hapoel Tel Aviv. CAS, the High Court for Sports, informed the club this evening (Monday) that all 9 appeals against lawsuits by foreign players who sued the club were accepted – and all sanctions against the club regarding those debts were canceled.
The wording of the club’s announcement: “As I recall, the club has faced difficulties in recent years that clouded the decisions made in its case. FIFA will now have to decide whether it wishes to renew the proceedings against the team, if at all.”
The meaning of the announcement is in fact that potential buyers, who were reluctant to buy Hapoel Tel Aviv because of the story with CAS, will probably now be able to see land as suitable for a future purchase of the club.
