Laduki is India’s first martial arts film directed by famous director Ram Gopal Varma. The movie centered around the heroine is released in Tamil as ‘Ponnu’. Martial arts star Pooja Palekar plays the lead role. The press meet of the soon to be released film was held in Chennai today.

Speaking at the event, Ram Gopal Verma said, “This film is a very challenging film for me. Brusley has been close to my heart since my college days. I have been watching his films regularly. There are no martial arts films like his films in India. After I become a director, I hope to make martial arts films. I thought, but it was postponed. When I finally thought of making this film, Bruce Lee’s image came to my mind.

He has a very thin figure. But the magic he brings on screen is amazing. At the same time, I thought, what if we keep a girl? After searching for many people, I finally heard about Pooja Balekar and met him. I was amazed by his skills. I showed his video to a company in China, the birthplace of martial arts. They were surprised. Then I co-produced this film with them.

The film has been delayed due to Corona. We planned to release the film simultaneously in all languages. I didn’t have money to watch Brusley’s ‘Enter the Dragon’ in Hyderabad. But now my martial arts film will release in the same theatre, I am happy. I am happy that my dream has now come true,” he said.
