36-year-old Shikhar Dhawan, the vice-captain of the Indian team, gave an interview yesterday as the first one-day cricket match against Zimbabwe begins tomorrow. Then he said:-
“I am happy to share my experiences with the young players in the team. I am ready to help the young players whenever they ask me for advice.
The return of Lokesh Rahul to the team and captaining the series is very good news. He is one of the important players in the Indian team. The tournament will help him prepare himself ahead of the Asia Cup. I am sure he will benefit a lot from this series.
It is sad that Washington Sundar is out due to injury. He is an important player in our team. We miss him as a spinner. But getting hurt is part of the game. I hope he recovers and returns soon.”
Dhawan said.
