Abu Dhabi: A man has been sentenced to one year in prison and fined 10,000 dirhams (Rs 2.08 lakh) for harassing women on public roads in the UAE. Action will be taken against those who mistreat women by word or deed.
Action will also be taken against men who enter areas where only women have access, dressed as women or not.
The public prosecution also said that awareness campaigns were being conducted on social media as part of promoting legal culture among members of the community.
