Shocking documentation: A YSM fighter was documented this evening (Sunday) during the demonstration of the ‘Jerusalem faction’, stepping with his knee several times on the head of an ultra-Orthodox demonstrator.
It should be noted that against the policeman who was documented being violent, an indictment was filed following a serious assault on a young Arab man in the Silwan neighborhood of Jerusalem. According to the indictment, the policeman caused a fracture in the young man’s nose.
During the “Jerusalem faction” demonstration, at least seven demonstrators who violated the order at the entrance to Jerusalem were arrested.
The Israel Police stated following the documentation: “Following the disturbance and violent riots of hundreds of rioters, the police forces began to disperse the rioters on the spot, after a dispersal order was issued without a hitch. “They confronted the police on the spot while throwing objects and stones at them, attacking passers-by and causing damage to vehicles.”
“The police worked to repel the rioters through means to disperse the riots, and seven rioters were arrested while some opposed the arrest. We will continue to allow freedom of protest legally, but will not allow violent riots, public disturbance and attempts to harm police and road users illegally,” they added.
