Mumbai have retained four players – captain Rohit Sharma, Jaspreet Bumra, Suryakumar Yadav and Kieron Pollard – ahead of next season’s auction. With this, players Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya and Ishant Kishan, who have been playing for Mumbai for years, are unlikely to stay with the team. Hardick’s post suggests that he may have a chance to bring them back through the star auction but will not continue with the team.
Hardik Pandya’s Instagram post starts by saying that it is my journey with Mumbai Indians. Pandya noted the moments spent with the team and the achievements, the ups and downs that took place during this period, and thus every moment with Mumbai is kept in my heart.
‘These memories will always be with me and I will keep them in my heart. The friendships I made after coming here, the relationships I formed, the members of the Mumbai Indians, the fans; I owe a lot to everyone. Mumbai has played a huge role in my growth as a person as well as as a player. I came here years ago with a lot of dreams. We played together, we won together, we lost together, we fought together. Every moment with this team has a huge place in my life. For all good things have an end. Mumbai Indians will always be in my heart ‘- Pandya said.
Mumbai Indians have acquired Hardik Pandya in the 2015 IPL star auction. The player, who was then acquired by Mumbai for a base price of Rs 10 lakh, later became one of the key players in the team.
