Kannur: A CPM activist (cpm) killed Haridas (Haridas Murder case) in a field below Punnol in a second attempt. The investigation team said that this was clear from the confessions of the arrested persons. The attempt was made by a team led by Nijil Das, who is now in custody. The assassination was planned for February 14 at 10 p.m.

According to the remand report, Haridas was killed by a group of BJP activists. The remand report states that the motive for the murder was political animosity and that a conspiracy had taken place.

According to the confession of KV Vim of Punnol, the second accused in the case, Vim and others went in search of him on February 14 at 10.30 pm and prepared the gang for the murder. The confession also states that Nijindas and Atmajan were approached for this. The plan was to ambush Haridasan when he returned home. But the attempt did not succeed that day.

Meanwhile, a police officer was questioned yesterday in connection with the murder of Haridas.
Suresh, the CPO of Kannavam station, was questioned. Prior to the murder, the accused in the case, Lijeesh Suresh, was on the phone.

Four RSS-BJP activists, including BJP Thalassery constituency president and Thalassery municipal ward councilor Lijesh, were arrested in the case. They have been charged with conspiracy. They have been remanded.

Lijesh’s speech against the CPM days before the assassination was controversial. Haridas and his brother were among the gang members arrested in connection with the temple dispute. Police have intensified their search for a group of four killers who arrived in two bikes.

The post-mortem report states that Haridas’ death was due to excessive bleeding. Haridas sustained four fatal cuts to his right leg. The left leg was completely amputated. Haridas had about 20 cuts on his body.

Haridas, a fisherman, was hacked to death on February 21 at around 2 am. The incident took place at Punnol near Thalassery New Mahi. Haridas was hacked to death near his house. Haridasan, who was returning from work, reached the kitchen area and handed over the fish to his wife Mini, who was on his way to the front when the assailants jumped out.

Relatives had also reached the spot after hearing the commotion. The violence took place in front of relatives. The attack was carried out by a group of assailants who arrived in two bikes. Sahojaran Suran was also hacked while trying to stop the violence against Haridas.
