Lahore: Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf has hit his teammate in the face during a Pakistan Super League match. Lahore Qualifiers star Rauf slapped teammate Kamran Ghulam in the face. Rauf slapped the slave in the face in anger as he missed the catch.
The incident took place in the second over of the match against Peshawar Sal. Rauf’s second ball was wasted by Peshawar’s Afghan batsman Hasratullah Zazai’s catch Ghulam. Rauf then dismissed opener Mohammad Harris, who was at the crease with Zazai in the fifth ball of the same over.
Mohammad Harris was caught by Fawad Mohammad at the boundary line and returned. The slave, who later ran to congratulate Rauf, was disappointed. The response from Rauf was not so pleasant.
Rauf slapped the slave in the face for wasting his first chance. Ghulam, however, laughed and joined in the celebration. The Pakistani cricketer was still angry. The umpire then warned the player. Many reacted harshly to Rauf’s actions. The cricketing world wants the player to apologize.
In 2020, a similar incident took place at the Bangabandhu T20, a regional cricket tournament in Bangladesh. The villain was Mushfiqur Rahim, a senior Bangladesh player at the time. Mushfiqur was about to hit a fielder who was blocking his catch that day.
Mushfiqur captained the Beximco Dhaka team in the tournament. The dramatic event took place during an exciting fight against Fortune Barisal. Mushfiqur ran from behind the wicket to catch the ball, which was picked up by Afif Hussain in the last ball of the 17th over of the Barishal innings.
But his teammate Nass did not see it and ran to catch it. Both reached the brink of collision but Mushfiqur completed the catch. Watch the video.
