Who supports Trump and who supports Harris among the US billionaires?

While the race for the US presidential elections in November comes to the fore, after having offered the first TV debate between the two candidates, the supporters of the aspiring tenants of the White House are counted. And the conclusions are starting to be drawn on the amounts collected to finance the electoral campaign.

Using data from the Federal Election Commission in August, Bloomberg analysts checked the members of the Bloomberg Billionaires Index who donated money to Harris or Trump’s campaigns. High-profile members of the index were also considered, such as Elon Musk e Bill Ackman who do not appear in FEC data, but supported one of the candidates.

Considering the ultra-rich, Trump is in the lead for the support received. The former president received at least $24.4 million from 13 members of the rich list.

The Harris campaignmeanwhile, has received at least $12.8 million from 20 people, including those who donated to Biden’s campaign before he resigned. Those contributions were transferred to her when she became a candidate.

Harris, however, has outpaced Trump overall. The Democratic nominee raised $81 million in the first day after Biden’s exit, which her campaign called the biggest 24-hour fundraiser of any candidate in history. She had $404 million in the bank at the start of September, surpassing Trump’s $295 million.
