Tottenham striker Harry Kane has reportedly expressed his desire to join Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, according to Uli Hoeness, the club’s honorary president. Despite having their initial bid rejected, Bayern remains determined to secure the services of England captain, Kane.

Head coach Thomas Tuchel has already discussed a potential move with Kane, and Hoeness, speaking from Bayern’s pre-season training camp, expressed confidence in landing Tottenham’s all-time leading goalscorer if the player remains true to his word. Hoeness also revealed that chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge maintains regular communication with Kane.

Kane, who still has one year remaining on his current contract with Spurs, arrived for the first day of pre-season on Wednesday and subsequently traveled with the squad to Perth, Australia on Friday.

The relationship between Bayern Munich and Tottenham appears to be amicable, as CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen met with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy for breakfast in London on Thursday. However, no fresh offer was made during the meeting, and Bayern did not quote a specific price following their initial bid.

Kane’s contract negotiations with Tottenham were put on hold last season as the striker focused on helping the club secure a Champions League spot. Unfortunately, Spurs finished in eighth place, missing out on European football altogether.

Despite the lack of trophies at both domestic and international levels, Kane achieved significant milestones in his career. In February, he surpassed Jimmy Greaves’ all-time Tottenham goalscoring record by netting his 267th goal for the club. The following month, he became England’s record goalscorer.

Tottenham and chairman Daniel Levy face a difficult decision, as keeping Kane would involve a significant risk. However, the potential rewards of retaining their star striker, both on and off the field, may outweigh the risks.
