Fighting that epidemic is a “large part of my mother’s legacy,” writes Harry. “Like many, my mother grew up in a world where HIV often meant a death sentence. But in the midst of all that uncertainty, she led with empathy, finding the humanity in everyone around her and demonstrating the power of connection in that time of fear. Although my mother has not experienced the success of today’s treatments, I feel very proud to be able to continue her work with you.”

The prince is also happy with all the work that the Terrence Higgins Trust has already done. “Let’s hope the next milestone we celebrate is the end of the HIV/AIDS epidemic.”
