Before the start of World War II, Hartheim Castle in Austria was a center for people with physical or mental disabilities. From 1939 to 1944, the facility became a place of torture, where the Schutzstaffel tested methods of mass extermination on helpless patients. The true purpose of the institution was kept hidden from the public. The documentary gets to the bottom of the gruesome history of the castle and explains how its real use was covered up.
