The Minister of Regional Affairs and Agriculture, Piret Hartman (SDP), said in the Uudis+ program on Vikerraadio that specialists and teachers who moved to rural areas could live in state-subsidized rented houses. writes ERR.
Hartman noted that there is experience with the rental house program, which is why new houses are being built in small settlements.
“Until now, the goal was for the state to invest part of the funds, and the rest by the local government or the private sector. If we want to attract specialists or teachers to Ida-Viru County, Valga or Rapla County, it is important to have apartments for these specialists to move into. We also want young people to stay in these small communities. So we have to create living spaces that are comfortable, modern and beautiful,” said Hartman. She was still unable to clarify where exactly new rental homes are planned to be built.
