Chandigarh: After the end of the campaign for the assembly elections in Haryana, Congress has complained to the Election Commission about BJP candidate Aseem Goyal. Congress has alleged that BJP candidate Aseem Goyal shared a video on Facebook abusing the Dalit community. A complaint has also been given by Congress to the Election Commission and Haryana Police. Congress has demanded action from the Commission. Aseem Goyal is a minister in the current Nayab Saini government. He is contesting elections from Ambala city. Congress alleges that a woman leader is making objectionable statements in the video shared on their Facebook page.
What is in Congress’s complaint?
Congress has said in the complaint sent to the Election Commission and DGP that the video shared by Aseem Goyal on Facebook. The name of the woman seen in it is Kanta Aladia. Goyal has described the woman as Kanta Hooda, whereas the woman leader is not Kanta Hooda but Kanta Aaladia. Aladia has his own party and he himself is a Dalit leader. Kanta Aladia has no connection whatsoever with Congress. Congress has demanded commission and police action, terming the video released by Aseem Goyal as false.
Congress demanded cancellation of nomination
Congress media in-charge Chandveer Hooda said that the party has demanded in the complaint sent to the police and the Election Commission that Aseem Goyal is trying to spread hatred and lies in the society. As per the rules, Amim Goyal’s nomination should be cancelled. There is anger in the society over posting of videos abusing the Dalit community. In the 2019 elections, Asim Goyal won from Ambala City for the second time. He defeated independent Nirmala Singh Mohra. After this, he got a chance to become a minister in the Naib Saini government. Aseem Goyal has not yet given any reaction on Congress’s allegations.
