President Ranil Wickremesinghe said that by building trust as a country, we have been able to get the support of the International Monetary Fund.
President Ranil Wickremesinghe urged the trade union representatives that everyone should act within the same policy framework in the face of the economic crisis facing the country.
The President said this during a meeting with trade union representatives held at the President’s office yesterday afternoon regarding the corrective measures to be taken to resolve the economic and financial crisis in the country.
Stating that the country’s economy is expected to improve after the first quarter of this year, the President has expressed hope of achieving better economic progress in 2024.
The President pointed out that not only the government sectors but also the private sectors should be strengthened to provide relief to the people while advancing the development programs of the country.
President Ranil Wickremesinghe has expressed hope that he expects to be able to increase the domestic income by the end of this year and through this he can provide some relief to the people.
