The Hashkal touched on the risk level of the State of Israel for international investors: “The seniors of the Accountant General’s Division and I talk regularly with the rating companies and international investors. Everyone expects that the system will soon converge to a sustainable solution, so that the level of certainty will be high again, and that in the end the WGI index (a common and accepted governance index that measures the quality of governance according to 6 criteria) will not be damaged.”

Rotenberg implicitly dismissed media reports that he was supposedly preventing Treasury discussions on the legal legislation. “We reflect and will continue to reflect to the policy makers analyzes and meanings of all the issues that are relevant to the Israeli economy. We do this in the appropriate forums, in a professional, open, balanced, non-aggressive manner and based on data.” He further added that “we have our own ways of doing it, without it reaching the media.”

In conclusion, Rotenberg called for finding a quick solution: “The State of Israel, Israeli society and the Israeli economy have gone through various and complex processes and crises over the years. The current situation is troubling. I am also aware and familiar with the attempts to reach a broad consensus and hope that it will be found soon.”
