Hasselt University will investigate the role of fat metabolism in the brain in people with Alzheimer’s. Once the researchers have determined the role, they will see whether they can also control fat metabolism. This can be done, for example, by administering certain medication or by adjusting the patient’s lifestyle. The goal is to fight Alzheimer’s in the long term. That is why the research can count on the support of the Alzheimer Research Foundation. They donate 300,000 euros to research at Hasselt University.
