SetteOTTO Association: “Good stop funding to UNRWA. Concrete way to honor Remembrance Day”
The SetteOTTO association, created to counter denialism and anti-Semitic hatred after the Hamas attack on 7 October 2023, applauds the Italian government’s decision to suspend funding to UNRWA, the UN agency for Palestinian refugees. A decision which, the association underlined in a note, comes on Remembrance Day and which “concretely celebrates it”. “Just announced by Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, the Italian position comes after that undertaken by the United States, Canada and Australia which suspended funding to UNWRA following the opening of an investigation into twelve employees of the UNRA. ‘Un, which has been weighed since yesterday by the terrible accusation of having participated in the pogrom of 7 October in southern Israel” added the association.
The association is promoted, among others, by Stefano Parisi, Anita Friedman, Daniele Scalise, Andrée Ruth Shammah, Luigi Mattiolo, Pier Luigi Battista, Ilaria Borletti, Gabriele Albertini. Over 250 members have signed up to date, including Claudio Pagliara, David Meghnagi, Bruna Ingrao, Debora Bergamini, Francesca Nocerino, Andrea Orsini, Costanza Esclapon, Claudia Mancina, Alessio D’Amato, Massimiliano Fedriga, Piero Fassino, Enrico Morando.
