Qwho is attacking the Christmas decorations of Sallanches? In the small town of Haute-Savoie, the cables that supply electricity to the Christmas lights in the main square have been found cut almost every day since their installation. An act that pisses off the mayor, Georges Morand. The latter, at the microphone of BFMTV, even promised a reward to anyone who would help to catch the one he does not hesitate to call a “saboteur”.

The cables of the light garlands have already been cut twenty times, assures the city councilor while making his daily rounds on the main square of Sallanches. It must be said that the operation is simple and within reach of anyone. “You just have a plier to have and cut. It causes a short circuit and it trips or burns out the transformers in the other sets,” explains Georges Morand.

“They come to annoy us for some LEDs”

Could this Christmas “Grinch” be an energy sobriety activist, determined to reduce the city’s electricity bill? “All the garlands are in LED, so it’s a reduced consumption”, recalls the mayor, who also indicates that it is planned that the lighting of the decorations will be cut at night, between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m.

“They come to bother us for a few LEDs in the cities, it’s stupid”, annoys a resident approached by BFMTV. “What would Christmas be like without lights?” ” similarly laments a local resident. Will they get their hands on this wreath saboteur? The reward promised by the mayor could motivate some.
