In Havana, Antilleans have also made themselves felt in recent days, protesting through writing on the city walls.

This has been adopted by Cubans as a way of protest, since on the island the communist regime sends the repressive police to imprison any citizen who peacefully takes to the streets to demand their rights.

For this reason, and continuing with the demonstrations in Camaguey in recent days, Havana has made itself felt this way with posters with messages alluding to the departure of the communist regime from power.

Some photographs published on social networks show the annoyance of Cubans at continuing to live in misery and poverty, with writings such as:

“Homeland and change”, “freedom, change”

The Antilleans wait until nightfall or take advantage of the darkness of the blackouts to demonstrate in this way, and thus avoid being punished by the police who attack the people instead of defending them.

These writings, made with paint, chalk or even with fingers in the dirt, are being used by Cubans as a means to transmit their desires for transformation and renewal on the island.

For its part, the immediate action of the dictatorship, instead of solving the people’s problems, is to order the walls that have these writings to be painted, to prevent evidence, such as these photographs, with which the entire world finds out about the discontent of Cubans with the dictatorship that exists in the country and their desire for regime change.

In a country where access to the internet and other means of communication is limited, messages on the walls become one of the few direct forms of expression for Cubans.
