Zakhar Prilepin, one of the best-known Russian writers and co-chairman of the political party “Just Russia — For Truth”, has been targeted by a terrorist attack. His car was blown up on a highway in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
Its driver died and Prilepin was seriously injured. Prilepin’s name is closely associated with the “Tradition” festival attended by Alexander Dugin and his daughter Daria Dugina, before his murder in a similar terrorist attack.
Police have arrested a man who may be involved in the explosion.
The bomb in Prilepin’s car was detonated via a GLONASS signal and the explosion occurred as the car was being unloaded. Zakhar along with his driver and daughter arrived this morning to stay with relatives. Many people knew he would be there. The driver was killed instantly. The bomb exploded under the car. The terrorists put it there expecting Zakhar to be in the front seat. But the bomb exploded seconds later when both Zakhar and his daughter got out.
