Jeet shared a post on his Instagram on Wednesday (August 14). The filmmaker writes, ‘Tomorrow is Independence Day. But at some point a question remains, have we really achieved freedom? Why are women targeted in today’s society? Why is such tragic torture done on women? What exactly should we do as a society to stop such heinous crimes?’
Demanding exemplary punishment, Jeet wrote, ‘I cannot even imagine the terrible pain the girl went through. What pain his family is going through now. We cannot explain their pain in any way. I am shocked and deeply disturbed by what happened at RG Kar Hospital. Protection of women is the most important issue while building a new India. I would request all those associated with law and administration to do justice to this incident. The culprit should be given an exemplary punishment.’
