The human toll is already catastrophic. At least six people have died in the American archipelago of Hawaii, affected by several impressive fires. The fire, which has destroyed a city and caused the evacuation of thousands of people, is being fanned by high winds of up to 130 km/h, fed by the force of Hurricane Dora, which is currently passing through the Pacific Ocean, several hundred kilometers south of the archipelago.

A state of emergency has been declared and, this Wednesday, US President Joe Biden announced that “all available federal means” are being mobilized “on the islands to contribute to the efforts” to fight the fires.
