We did not automatically go and form an alliance to win President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa. We signed an agreement with the Sri Lanka People’s Alliance and partnered with them on terms and conditions.
So we have the right to point out if the government makes a mistake. Because we are the ones who worked to set up this regime. We supported the President in line with the programs stated in the Prosperity Vision Policy Plan.
The foolish practices of today are not in the Proclamation of Prosperity policy statement. We must exercise the right found to point out the shortcomings of the government. We make decisions with the right programs. We are not afraid of that.
We have not joined the government because of anyone’s pressure. We must be accountable to the people who voted for us.
If we go to the village level and carry out programs, the progressive forces there will join us.
Under our leadership we will form a strong alliance with such organizations.
We would like to inform you that even if a coalition government is formed in the near future, it will be formed under the leadership of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party.
