Sunday’s incident left deep scars on Lyon, both physically and psychologically. One of those who suffered the most was the coach, Fabio Grosso, who was close to losing his vision in one of his eyes, according to a club official.
“He received 12 stitches, those are the physical marks, but he was also psychologically marked like the rest of the group. He has been under medical supervision because the extent of the cut is significant and he was close to losing his left eye. He took it with a full glass bottle and there was still a risk of concussion,” said Vincent Ponsot, Lyon’s general director, this Tuesday.

«We want our complaints to be processed. We will initiate a series of procedures and actions in this regard and our hope is that, if security conditions are not met to play in Marseille, the game will be played on a neutral field. The players are not to blame, they are here to play football and we just ask that they don’t get hit in the head with cement blocks,” said Ponsot.
There is still no new date for the game between Marseille and Lyon, on the tenth round of Ligue 1.
