on July 23 around 11:40 a.m. in Vandzenes Parish on the Talsi-Upesgrīva highway, State Police officials stopped a man who was driving a bicycle while under the influence of 1.26 ppm, but on July 27 around 2:10 p.m. in Dundaga, on Talsu Street, a bicycle driver had 0.74 percent of alcohol in his breath. An administrative violation process has been initiated against the two managers, informs Madara Šeršniova, senior specialist of the Public Relations Department of the State Police.
on July 28 around 6:20 a.m. State police officials stopped a Nissan car driven by a man in the direction from Stande to Dižstendi on the highway Talsi-Stende-Kuldīga in Lībagu parish. It was established that the license plates do not correspond to the registration documents of the vehicle in question and the mandatory civil liability insurance of the vehicle owner, state technical inspection and the driver himself does not have the right to drive the vehicle. Proceedings of administrative violations have been initiated against the manager for all the mentioned violations. It was also established that the man had cigarette packs without any excise stamps. In total, nine packets were removed, and an administrative violation process was initiated for the transportation of tobacco products that are not marked with excise tax stamps of the Republic of Latvia.
FIRE FIGHTING AND RESCUE
From July 22 to 29 The Kurzeme Region Administration of the State Fire and Rescue Service received four rescue calls in the vicinity of Talsi. No significant calls were received, informs Anete Strazdiņa, Senior Inspector of the Prevention and Public Information Department.
On Sunday and Monday, VUGD carried out works to eliminate damage caused by strong wind and rain throughout Latvia. On Sunday evening, fire rescuers went to three calls in the vicinity of Talsi, where it was necessary to clear the driving part of the road from broken trees, as well as to one call on the night of Monday – on Liepu street in Roja, įbuļi, Virbu and Mērsraga parishes.
