BOLZANO. An Albanian citizen, resident in the province of Brescia for many years, was arrested by the Guardia di Finanza of Bolzano for possession of 1.6 kg of cocaine. The man, with a small police record, stopped by a patrol near the Twenty during a control activity, he was unable to explain with conviction the reason for his presence in Bolzano.
Furthermore, a quick inspection of the car’s interior revealed that the seats had been doused with perfumea trick often used to confuse the nose of drug-sniffing dogs.
Checking the luggage compartment, the Guardia di Finanza found an elongated metal object hidden under the car upholstery which later turned out to be a real “key” which, inserted into a small hole on a side bulkhead, activated a mechanical device that gave access to a double bottom. Here, the military found two blocks of drugs which, when analyzed, turned out to be cocaine, for a weight of approximately 1.6 kilos.
