He launches Banjo, a dating site based on his musical tastes

“Music gives soul to our hearts and wings to thought”. It’s from Plato, and still in tune. There was the Louise application – currently being redesigned “and whose idea is to listen to sound with anyone in real time”, insists its creator, Gwenhael Louise, with 20 Minutes –, there is now Banjo. The first was born in 2015 in Nantes (Loire-Atlantique), the second has just been released in Rouen (Seine-Maritime).

The latter, developed by Jonathan Luquet, (also) connects its users based on their musical tastes. With a clearly stated goal, this time: to find your soul mate.

After synchronizing your Spotify or Deezer account, the application studies the most listened to playlists and titles. And all this is crossed with the other data to propose “compatibilities”.

The best song of all time, the one for a night of love…

In addition to the essentials of dating sites – age, sex, city, sexual orientation – to target his alter ego, Banjo, for example, invites subscribers to describe themselves in four songs: the best of all time, the one for a night of love , the one listened to in secret and the mood of the day.
Rather shy and “married for fifteen years”, he specifies to 20 Minutes, Jonathan Luquet – a 38-year-old former real estate agent – has just completed developer training to carry out his project. He now hopes to raise funds.

Its objective: to change applications that are too “superficial”, which “are primarily based on the physical”. And find topics for discussion during the first exchanges. Access is currently completely free.
