Italian coaching legend Fabio Capello commented on the loss suffered by Bayern Munich against Real Madrid in the second leg of the Champions League semi-finals.
Bayern would have been on their way to victory had it not been for Joselu, the Merengue striker, who succeeded in scoring two goals in the fatal hour of the match, giving Real Madrid a golden victory and leading them to the final of the tournament.
Capello said, during statements to Sky Sport Italia: “Tuchel used all the substitutions poorly, so he was not able to make a fifth substitution.”
He added: “There were players suffering from muscle cramps, like Pavlovic. Tuchel made a strategic mistake, and a person like him cannot make such grave mistakes.”
On the other hand, Capello praised the experience of Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti, noting that his greatest strength lies in his ability to keep things completely simple.
Regarding Carlito, Capello said: “Ancelotti made the substitutions correctly, and he knew that Real Madrid was capable of turning things around in the last quarter of an hour.”
The former coach of the Royal Team concluded: “This is what (Ancelotti) said before the match. He puts the players in a position that allows them to give their best, feel free and express themselves to their fullest potential.”
