Manama: The Bahraini court sentenced the father who molested his ten-year-old daughter to ten years in prison. He was sentenced by the Bahraini Criminal Court. The accused denied the crime in the court. But the court found him guilty based on the evidence and testimony.
The incident in question took place in Sitra. The accused father tortured the child without the knowledge of the mother and siblings. The main witness in the case is the eight-year-old brother of the abused child. The brother informs the mother about the molestation. Then the mother would complain to the police.
The accused was convicted based on the evidence including the statement of the abused child. A picture drawn by a ten-year-old girl who was tortured describing her condition was also taken into consideration in the court case. The girl drew a picture of a man and a crying girl sitting on a bed. The child also drew the mother in the picture with a heart symbol.
The child’s lawyer said that he would approach the High Civil Court seeking compensation from the accused. The accused’s lawyer argued that the accused is not guilty and the child’s mother is making false allegations. The defendant also said that they will appeal against the verdict in the Supreme Criminal Court. At the same time, it is reported that the medical examination did not show any obvious signs that the child was a victim of torture.
