Shardul Thakur is an all-rounder in the Indian team. He managed to take seven wickets in the series against West Indies. But former wicketkeeper-batsman Saba Karim is of the opinion that he does not understand what his role is in the team.
Although Thakur had a good streak as a bowler, Saba said Thakur needs clarity on his role. As an all-rounder, he needs to shine in both departments, Karim added.
“Although Shardul Thakur has had a good series with the ball, he needs to be clear about his role. As an all-rounder, he will have to contribute in both departments due to the fierce competition for places in the team. Of course the number of fast bowlers we have now is very good,’ said Karim.

Thakur was the highest wicket taker in the series with seven wickets against West Indies. Indian spinner Chahal also took seven wickets. Thakur, who has shown strength in the batting in the past, needs to shine with the bat if he wants to get a place in the team. Fans believe that he can add batting depth to the team.
