The unusual event occurred in La Plata, the capital of the province of Buenos Aires, on 5th Street between 80 and 80 bis where there is a butcher shop where the owner of Tobías arrived and asked the employees of the premises if they could do the work of dissecting the animal that was alive there. and did not present any terminal pathology, although The woman claimed that she had only a few days to live.
After the presentation of a group of protectionist residents of the area, police officers and the rescuers themselves They went to the woman’s home and managed to put Tobías in shelter.. Part of this situation was recorded by one of the neighbors and it went viral again.
At that point, the surprise was even greater when listening to the arguments of the woman who, without any qualms, admitted that she had asked at the butcher shop how to slaughter Tobías and that It was “a country custom.”
When confronted by one of the rescuers, the woman replied: “I do not understand what the problem is”. Then she expanded: “I’ll explain it to you. My dad and my grandfather are from the countryside. They always worked in the Hipódromo neighborhood with horses. When the horse reaches a certain time, he is sent to slaughter.
The astonishment grew when the rescuer, stunned by the response, asked him what he meant by slaughtering. “It’s like the cow. First you peel it, you remove the fur. Then you leather it and use the meat. That is done with animals.”
“I saw that he was already of age… he is a good dog, he poops well, he has good teeth”the woman explained to the astonishment of the protectionists who caressed Tobías and were guarded by members of the 8th police station out of fear that the situation would turn violent.
At that moment, the protectionists told him that they were going to kidnap the golden retriever to give it up for adoption. There was an argument that did not escalate and, after loading the dog into a transport cage inside a van, the woman was heard saying “Bye Toto.”
After kidnapping the dog, the rescuers took Tobías to the police station where the complaint for animal abuse was filed. The woman also went to the police headquarters.

A few days after the image of a school bus that ran over, without making the slightest effort to avoid it, a dog that was calmly crossing the street in Lanús, Saudi Arabia presented a bill to increase the penalties of the previous regulations (N°14,346).
Article three of the project proposes toughening penalties: “He will be repressed with prison six months to five years and a fine of 10 to 30 times the value of the Minimum Living and Mobile Wage, who commits acts of cruelty to animals.” Within these, they are listed: “practice vivisection for purposes that are not scientifically demonstrable and in places or by people that are not duly authorized; maim any part of the body of an animal, unless the act is for improvement, marking or hygiene purposes; surgically intervene in animals without anesthesia and without having the title of doctor or veterinarian; andxperiment with animals of a higher degree on the zoological scale; abandon to their own means to animals used in experiments; cause death of pregnant animals when such a state is evident; intentionally hurt or run over, cause them unnecessary torture or suffering or kill them just for the spirit of perversity; and carry out public or private acts of animal fightsbullfights, bullfights and parodies, in which animals are killed, injured or harassed.”
The initiative also specifies that abuse will be considered: employ animals to pull vehicles that significantly exceed their strength, not feeding them in sufficient quantity and quality, urging them to work using instruments that, not being simple stimuli, cause unnecessary punishment or painful sensations; failure to provide adequate medical and/or veterinary care; leaving an animal in a situation of abandonment; stimulate them with drugs without pursuing therapeutic purposes or supply them with drugs not authorized by the health authority.
Also included, limit the mobility of animalsin areas whose size and exposure to extreme temperature conditions represent a danger to their health, and impose excessive hours of effort or inappropriate tasks, among other points.
