He should have been awarded Man of the Series; Gambhir with great appreciation

by time news

Gautam Gambhir says Mohammad Siraj should have been given the Player of the Series award for the three ODIs between India and Sri Lanka along with Virat Kohli. It should be noted that the absence of Siraj Bumrah, who performed well in the series, did not inform the entire Indian team.

The Men in Blue set Dasun Shanaka and co a mammoth target of 391 runs in the final ODI in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday. Siraj then took figures of 4/32 in 10 overs as Sri Lanka were bowled out for just 73 as India cruised to a mammoth 317-run win.

During a discussion on Star Sports, Gambhir was asked about his thoughts on Mohammad Siraj’s performances in the series, to which he replied:

“For me, I think he was on par with Virat Kohli. There should have been a joint man of the series because he was exceptional. “Four a batting wicket was played so beautifully.”

The player performed above what Siraj wanted except for not taking 5 wickets yesterday.
