An argument over bathroom use led to a violent confrontation between two sisters in Miami-Dade, leaving one of them seriously injured and the other behind bars.
According to local press, this unfortunate incident occurred near the 2100 block of Northeast 163rd Street.
The Miami-Dade Police Department reported that the incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. last Monday, when an emergency call was received alerting about a physical altercation between the sisters.
The victim, whose identity has not been released, reported that her sister, 20-year-old Cynthia Pierre, became enraged at not being able to use the shower, beginning a chain of events that would quickly escalate into violence.
The attacker’s anger first materialized in banging on the bathroom door, then spread through several rooms of the house, culminating in a dangerous confrontation in the kitchen.
In an attempt to defend herself, the victim grabbed a knife; however, Pierre managed to snatch it from her and proceeded to stab his sister in the neck and forearms.
Terrified and seriously injured, the victim managed to escape from the scene and alert the authorities. The quick action of the emergency services allowed Miami-Dade firefighters to transport the injured woman to HCA Florida Aventura Hospital, where she is receiving treatment.
