The leader of the 2021 Formula 1 World Championship has returned to Monte Carlo where he is recovering after the terrible accident at Silverstone. Verstappen is also working with his physical trainer to solve neck problems due to the impact after the accident with Hamilton, as confirmed by Helmut Marko: “He is working with his physiotherapist. He is very well, we are amazed by the extent of the accident. However, he has to work on his neck, he still complains of a strong stiff neck ”.

The controversy relating to the accident that took place at the first lap of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone between Hamilton and Verstappen does not subside. And to throw further fuel on the fire is Doctor Helmut Marko, a director of Red Bull and a very influential man in the team, who in an interview with the Austrian newspaper ‘OE24’, gave an interview in which he affirms that the leader of the World championship is still not at its best: “Verstappen is back in Munich. He is working with his physiotherapist. He is very well, we are surprised by the extent of the accident. However, he has to work on his neck, he still complains of a strong stiff neck”.

There will be no problems for the next race weekend, that of the Hungaroring scheduled between 30 July and 1 August. But in the meantime, the approach to that Grand Prix is ​​not the easiest for Verstappen who is recovering but is still suffering from neck problems, as Marko reiterated:

The boy still complains of a stiff neck, but he’s surprisingly fine. I thought he wouldn’t be able to move for a couple of days after what happened. And everyone saw what happened. Max will do everything in his power to win the 2021 world championship. We will definitely not aim for revenge or anything like that, we are not at this level.

After the Silverstone Grand Prix Hamilton has recovered much of the disadvantage, now Verstappen has an advantage of eight points, despite having obtained one more success in this World Championship 2021. The sports war has begun, and it is easy to foresee a duel without exclusion of shots throughout the rest of the championship between Lewis and Max, ready to write another big chapter of their rivalry already in Hungary.
