The day promised to be epic. One of those weekend outings with friends and machines to match: a Ducati 848, a BMW S 1000 RR, a Yamaha MT-09… ahead, hundreds of kilometers of curves and lots of fun. But everything ends sooner than expected due to a simple oversight.

CJ Media is a well-known Youtuber capable of fixing practically any two- or four-wheeled vehicle, no matter how damaged it is; CJ often finds claims for fun, buys them dirt cheap, and then brings them back to life after months of work. Some motorcycles he keeps to enjoy, and others he sells to make a profit.

Nine months ago now, this handyman from the world of mechanics bought himself for $5,000 a 2016 Yamaha R1M that had been in a pretty big crash. Updating it took him several months, and it wasn’t until last April that he managed to finish it; As soon as he tried it, he fell in love with Elka, and he decided that this R1M would stay in his garage for a long time… but he was wrong.

A couple of weeks ago, CJ and his friends met up on a Sunday to enjoy a beautiful winding road. The rhythm was happy, although far from the atrocities that are usually seen on social networks; our protagonist enjoyed the 200 hp of his exclusive Yamaha R1Ma model that is characterized from the standard model by incorporating an electronic suspension and a full carbon fiber bodywork.

Coming to a left hander, CJ gets a little confused, and although his speed is not excessive (about 70 mph, about 110 km/h), he is unable to get the bike on the correct trajectory, it goes long and that’s when disaster strikes.

The pilot is lucky and gets stuck in a bush shortly after falling, but his R1M ends up falling down the ravine and losing parts along the way. His friends, after making sure that CJ was okay, went down the hill and collected everything: the seat, a headlight, the motorcycle keys, the tail… they even found the Insta360 camera that was recording behind him, hoping to recover the footage of the fall.

The protagonist of the fall, after seeing that he was physically fine and that he only had some pain in one foot, even dared to go down the ravine to see in situ the jumble of irons to which his R1M had been reducedthe same one he had been working on since the end of last year.

His only consolation is knowing that he physically made it out of there in one piece, quite a miracle considering where the bike ended up. Now, CJ is already thinking about how to recover his Yamaha from the bottom of the ravine to take it homeevaluate all the damage well and decide whether or not it is worth putting money back into it to recover its original state.
